How We Work With You

The starting point for every assignment is a clear understanding of your business and people goals. Experience tells us that many people and performance issues have complex and sometimes ambiguous causes.   We therefore search for robust evidence to guide us when implementing solutions and interventions for you.

Typically our assignments involve three stages:

A Discovery stage in which we use robust psychological research methods to get under the skin of your business and people to explore the rational and emotional drivers of behaviour. Methods we may use include in-depth qualitative interviews, Appreciative Inquiry, analytics, team observation, psychometrics, 360 degree feedback and qualitative client surveys.

A Design stage where we analyse and interpret the evidence from the discovery stage to better understand the enablers and barriers to achieving your change priorities. We use this to identify and select from a wide range of individual, team, and organisation change methods to identify and plan the optimum solution for your people and business.

This is followed by an Implementation Stage where we co-lead the execution of our agreed solutions with you and your people.   Solutions we implement range from individual coaching and talent management, team and board development, design of behaviour frameworks and performance management systems, career and talent management system design and implementation, implementation of culture change, and facilitation of strategy formulation, etc.

Each of our interventions is designed specifically to address each client’s unique issues and requirements. We have available a diverse range of leading edge proprietary methodologies in our four areas of work. Some of these are described in the “Knowledge” part of this site.

Delivering complex multi-stage assignments requires consultants who are experts in their field.

Successful consulting also requires an ongoing relationship and responsiveness to you and your colleagues, and your evolving business needs.

The way we actually do this is described by one of our clients;

“Michael and his team have provided client surveys, bespoke team training, management and leadership programmes and staff development conversations for my teams at Arup over a period of over 8 years. His style and professionalism and cultural understanding of our firm is second to none and it has been a delight working with him and that’s why we have continued the relationship for as many years.”
